- Villa in Karuizawa
- concept
- The villa is located within the deep forest of Old Karuizawa.
Uniqueness of climate, natural features and culture all exist in Karuizawa.
To keep “elegance” in the atmosphere of the town, the villa is designed with the sophistication of the simplest gabled roof shape “kirizuma,” and the exterior wall with plain boards of Japanese cedar.
With consideration of this open space at the rear of the site and tree preservation, placement of the villa allows the balance of both privacy and openness.
One of the beautiful aspects of wooden architectures is wooden framed structure.
By the appearance of the roof structure on the upper floor, the structure materials composing the kirizuma roof show a rhythmical pattern produce an extension of space.
In addition, high performance insulation and humidity prevention measures provide residents a comfortable environment during not only summer holidays but all year round.
The villa provides a magnificent value of being away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
